The Director of Consumer Practices Compliance is responsible for leading a team within the Consumer Practices (UDAAP) Program for American Express National Bank (âBankâ).  This position will drive day-to-day compliance activities that focus on the execution of UDAAP related risk assessments; the preparation, reporting and communication of testing findings to management and compliance committees; and demonstrating credible challenge on potential consumer practices risk.
 How will you make an impact in this role?
- Ensure an effective Consumer Practices (UDAAP) Risk Management Program for American Express National Bank (âBankâ) that is appropriate for the size and complexity of the business.
- Collaborate with Compliance Officers on corrective action or remediation plans for identified compliance weaknesses and monitor the status of the remediation plans.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, as required, during examinations of Consumer Practices Programs, including preparing responses to examination- or supervisory-related requests.
- Proactively identify risks and emerging issues applicable to ongoing and proposed business activities.
- Work closely with colleagues in the General Counselâs Organization to communicate the requirements of pertinent federal and state and regulations, as well as significant industry trends.Â
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of consumer compliance experience
- Experience in managing activity in compliance, banking, regulatory examinations or audit.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of all regulatory bodies that influence bank policies for Consumer Practices within the United States.
- Experience managing multiple projects and driving results while working with ambiguity and adapting easily to change.
- Strong collaborative skills and experience leading and working in a matrixed and agile environment with cross-functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to persuade and influence
- Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills; ability to lead and inspire others through continuous coaching, feedback, recognition and encouragement
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) Certification
Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
