We have partnered with a growing financial services company to find their next Assistant Controller.Position: Assistant ControllerPaying: Up to 135k+ (DOE/Certifications & Background)Hybrid Schedule: Mon-Thurs in Office Friday RemoteIndustry: Automobile/FinanceReports to: ControllerNon-Negotiable requirements.-Bachelor's degree in Accounting-CPA-Accounting Management Experience-7+ years' of relevant accounting experienceHighly preferred skills:-Oracle ERP/PBCS-Public Accounting Background with top 50 firm-MBA/Masters of Accounting DegreeMain Responsivities:• Oversees accounting and reporting, general ledger reconciliation, and accounting policy development• Responsible for accurate and timely month-end close accounting functions:• Manages month-end close process• Prepares month-end financial statements and related analytics• Critically analyzes data for journal entries, general ledger, and related financial statements• Researches and explains balance sheet account and income statements fluctuations• Ensures the preparation and review related reconciliations are performed• Supports policy development and offers advice regarding accounting and internal control issues, reporting needs, and policy review and changes• Identifies and leads process improvement initiatives, system implementations, and system maintenance• Drives accounting related initiatives across the organization and with business leaders, vendors, and consultants• Actively develops and mentors staff for succession planning and career growth• Assists in adoption of new accounting standards including but not limited to researching standard, preparing written accounting policy for company, and preparing new disclosures• Oversees and/or assists external audits (banking compliance, and financial)• Assists with related special projects as requireInterview Process:1) HR Screen2) Video call with hiring manager3) In person meeting with Team/Offer
