American Express Technology is a critical Enterprise function, serving as the backbone of all we do, from providing the underlying infrastructure of the company to building core products and services we deliver to our customers. AmEx Technology has changed dramatically over the last few years, and as Technology continues to evolve its business strategies and operating model, the Finance organization will adapt accordingly to best position the organization in supporting American Express businesses.
This Manager will support the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function of the Technology organization within the Enterprise Services FP&A team. This role will focus on providing critical financial insights to various teams, supporting leadership with data-driven decisions, and enhancing existing financial processes and tools. Enterprise Services Finance is committed to ongoing improvement and evolution of its roles and responsibilities, and as such, the below may be subject to refinement, addition, or modification in the future.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support financial planning (e.g., monthly R&Os, LRP, and Plan), results analysis, and management reporting for the Technology organization (Tech Investment, Tech Operations, and Software Capitalization)
- Partner closely with the Tech Finance LFO organization to support R&O recommendations and meet business objectives
- Perform in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends and reporting findings to leaders for strategic decision-making
- Maintain and update Power BI dashboards, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of key financial metrics
- Transform and innovate Tech Financeâs FP&A processes, tools, and capabilities to enhance decision making (e.g., enriching Tech Financeâs existing suite of Power BI dashboards)
- Prepare and support presentation materials (e.g., monthly results, BUR and quarterly EC decks) for key financial metrics and trends, delivering clear insights and data for leadership discussions
- Execute on ad hoc analyses stemming from senior leader asks
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of Finance or equivalent experience
- IBM Cognos TM1 or similar OLAP tools experience
- Power BI or comparable data visualization platforms experience requiredÂ
- Proficient in Microsoft suite required
- Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Passion for developing and driving partnerships across multiple functions across the Enterprise
- Excellent communication skills: ability to distill financial data into clear and concise insights
- Robust technical skills to synthesize large amounts of complex data with the ability to draw key conclusions
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities effectively and drive results while meeting critical deadlines
- Understanding of P&Ls, financial metrics, cost drivers and forecast methodologiesÂ
- Self-starter with a high degree of intellectual curiosity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- MBA / CPA or equivalent preferred

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
