The main purpose of this position is to support the busy and growing finance function in this true Assistant Accountant role. Qodea has experienced significant growth in recent years and this is set to continue.

This role will report to the Management Accountant and you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Plan, organise and manage your own workload  to ensure timely and accurate contributions to the company’s monthly financial reporting process.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts.
  • Calculate and post prepayments, accruals, and deferred income journals at month-end.
  • Posting of purchase invoices, seeking approval of invoices that require it and address supplier queries.
  • Monthly payment run.
  • Perform monthly overhead analysis. 
  • Weekly reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Review and approval of employee expenses.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset registers.
  • Assisting with the calculation of sales commissions.
  • Post intercompany transactions and reconcile the accounts.
  • Support VAT return preparation.
  • Send out sales invoices & prepare monthly manual invoices.
  • Calculate deferred income.
  • Review and process employee expenses.
  • Assist with the year end audit.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet applications, with strong numerical skills and the ability to interpret data quickly and accurately.
  • To work autonomously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise and organise workload effectively.
  • Collaborative team player with experience working across departments to achieve shared goals.
  • Adaptable and agile in dynamic environments.

Desirable Skills:

  • Sage Line 50 experience (desirable but not required)
  • Salesforce experience (desirable but not required)
  • AAT Qualified/ Part CIMA Qualified
  • Ability to identify actions designed to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
